THE INKORE GLOSSARY

Deliverable

A deliverable is the concrete result expected at the end of a piece of preparation: a document, a plan, a summary or any other usable content.

Also known as: expected result

Naming the deliverable turns an activity into a goal you can check. “Working on the meeting” doesn’t tell you when you’re done; “a three-part summary for the team” does.

A well-defined deliverable states its form, its audience and the criteria that will be used to review it.

IN A REAL SITUATION

For example.

“A three-part meeting summary: decided, to confirm, next step” describes a more precise deliverable than “working on the meeting”.

IN INKORE

How Inkore applies it.

In Inkore, deliverables take the form of versioned documents, which you review before exporting them to Word, PDF or PowerPoint or proposing to send them.

The point to keep in mind.

Give a format, an audience and review criteria before the preparation starts.

Not to be confused with: Draft

The draft is an intermediate version; the deliverable is what will actually be used.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What is the difference between a deliverable and a task?

A task describes what needs to be done; a deliverable describes what must exist at the end. Asking an AI for a deliverable makes its work easier to review. “Prepare the meeting” is a task; “a one-page summary of the decisions and next steps” is a deliverable.
