THE INKORE GLOSSARY

Memory

Memory, in an AI assistant, is the information kept from one conversation to the next so that the context of a piece of work can be found again without starting from scratch.

Also known as: AI memory · assistant memory

Useful memory keeps little, but keeps it well: a preferred tone, a project constraint, a decision. Each piece of information is best linked to its source and to the project it concerns.

Because remembered information can become wrong, good memory can be viewed, corrected and forgotten.

IN A REAL SITUATION

For example.

A note can record a project constraint — “no deliveries at weekends” — along with the document that justifies it.

IN INKORE

How Inkore applies it.

Inkore remembers only what you ask it to remember, with your approval, in the space and project concerned. “What Inkore remembers” lists these preferences and lets you make Inkore forget them.

The point to keep in mind.

Provide ways to check, correct and remove a piece of information.

Not to be confused with: Context

Context is chosen for one request; memory persists from one request to the next.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can an AI assistant remember everything?

It can keep a lot, but that isn’t desirable. A chosen memory, linked to its sources and open to correction, stays reliable; an archive of everything becomes impossible to check. Keep the preferences and decisions that help you resume work, and remove what has become outdated.
